Set up WordPress on web hosting
Install and maintain a WordPress website using your cPanel hosting service.
Before you start
You need an active cPanel hosting service and a domain or included service address. Confirm the target domain before installing software; do not overwrite an existing website.
1. Open your hosting service
Sign in to the client portal, open the hosting service and use its cPanel access link. The billing account and WordPress administrator account are separate.
2. Confirm the domain and HTTPS
Check that the domain points to the intended hosting account and that its certificate is ready. If you are migrating a working site or email service, agree on DNS changes with support first.
3. Install WordPress
Open the application installer in cPanel if it is available for your plan. Choose the correct domain, HTTPS address and installation directory. Set a unique administrator username and strong password. If the installer is unavailable, contact support for the supported installation method.
4. Configure and maintain the site
Review the site name, visibility, theme and required plugins. Keep WordPress and its extensions updated, remove unused plugins, and test changes before using them on the live site. Confirm your backup and recovery arrangements before making significant changes.
